Morning Announcement following East Haven Meet 9/11

Yesterday the Cross Country team traveled to East Haven for the first meet of the year and both the boys and the girls came out victorious.  The Boys went first and got the season started on the right foot by dominating their meet and earning an emphatic team victory.  Captain Ryan Zimmerman started right where he left off last year with a strong showing earning 2nd place in meet.  Fellow captain AJ Signor ran the best race he has ever run in his 3 years with the team earning a top 10 medal along with David Suvoski, and rookies Alex Almeida, Philip Huntington, and Sam Giering.  The Girls team followed up their impressive season a year ago with another win.  The win was a team effort as the margin of victory was only 3 points.  After a phenomenal rookie season, Claire Banks started her second with the team with a strong 2nd place finish.  Brooke Lapierre, Morgan Nunez, and Alyssa Ferriouolo all earned top 10 medals. Special shout out to Grace Martin who toughed out a pair of hurt knees and had a strong finish that was crucial in securing the win for the team.  The NHMS Cross Country team will next compete at home 1 week from today on Thursday 9/18 and we hope to see a lot of support out there for our runners.
