Remote Learning Begins Tuesday, September 8th

Good Afternoon North Haven Families,

All students will begin live video instruction on Tuesday of next week. Students from both cohorts will participate in live remote instruction every day on full remote learning days. (Middle and High School: Sept 8th-11th, Elementary: Sept 8th-11th and 14th-18th).

Students in grades 3-12 will use their district Google accounts to log-in to Google Classroom and access their first period (or home room) teacher’s Google Classroom, where a Google Meet Code will be posted at the top of the Classroom page. Students will click the Meet link to join the Meeting.

Students in Grades K-2 will login to their Chromebooks and go to (this should automatically open as a tab in the Chromebook). The first time, they will need to click to Log In With Google. Next, click on their SeeSaw app (this may be down the page). In the SeeSaw app they will access their Teacher’s Classroom and click on the Google Meet code listed in SeeSaw Activities to join their teacher.

Distance Learning - Live Instruction and Video

During periods of Remote Learning, the North Haven Public Schools will be implementing some of your child’s education and/or related services through group video conferencing using Google Meet. These services will be provided in a group setting with multiple students participating in the video conference. Student names and video images will be visible to the teacher and other participating students. Parents are encouraged to have their students participate via a location that is quiet and free of distraction, to the extent possible. Other individuals in the home are not permitted to participate in or be visible on the video conference, or otherwise observe the lesson, other than reasonable adult supervision of the student.

Parents and students are prohibited from recording video conferencing sessions or inviting others to the sessions. All individuals shall comply with relevant Board of Education policies, including but not limited those concerning the confidentiality of student records and acceptable use of district computer systems, which policies can be accessed at

Sessions may be recorded by the instructor only and shared only with same grade level or subject area students and teachers so that those who cannot attend live will still have access to the instruction.

Student privacy and the confidentiality of student information is of utmost importance. Parents are reminded, however, that the District is not in direct control of individual homes or physical locations of participating students.

Attending live instruction is highly recommended but required for families with schedule difficulties, recordings of live sessions will be posted to EdPuzzle for replay for students who cannot participate. Students may join with audio and video, just audio, or join with no audio and video and just comment questions into the sessions. We hope these flexible options allow you to choose a distance learning option that is most comfortable for your family. Please fill out the form found here ONLY if you wish to opt your student out of Live Video distance learning:
